Thailand's security solutions market is estimated at 3.5 billion baht (110 Million USD) and is expected to grow an additional 10-12 percent in 2018, fueled by the country's mega projects to expand its transportation network and smart city development.

In addition to surveillance equipment, sources in Thailand's security channel point to a growing demand for real-time data collection and accurate data analytics.

Secutech Thailand 2017, taking place at BITEC convention center in Bangkok on 16-18 November will be this year's main venue to present these new solutions.

The show will have a special safe city area which will include a demo area, Smart City project award and an Intelligent Video gallery. asmag spoke with Ariel Frischoff, VP of Sales for EMEA and APAC at Agent Vi, one of the video analytics companies participating in the intelligent video gallery to hear about the company's plans for the show and the Thai market.

asmag: How involved are you in the Thai market currently? Can you share any key projects that you have been involved in?
Frischoff: Agent Vi's activities in Thailand are managed by the Agent Vi office in Singapore. In Thailand, we have two local distributors – Digitalcom and D-Ron – and multiple Channel Partners (systems integrators/installers). Some of the key customers/projects that we have been involved in include: Thai Army – South Thailand project; Port Authority of Thailand; RTAF camps; MEA (Bangkok Electric Company); CMG – Shopping mall, MegaBanga – Shopping Mall.

asmag: What are the most important vertical markets that you are targeting in Thailand and why?
Frischoff: One of our major focuses currently is government and safe cities projects. Our solutions are highly scalable, and hence are highly suitable for city and government projects with thousands of cameras.

asmag: What do you feel are the latest market trends that are impacting, or will impact, your business in Thailand?
Frischoff: The geopolitical situation in Thailand impacts security issues on a nation-wide scale. Also, we have witnessed cloud-based solutions starting to be more available/common.

asmag: Are you planning to launch any new products or services at the show?
Frischoff: At the show we will be demonstrating innoVi for Smart Cities – a cloud-based video analytics Software as a Service (SaaS) that transforms the hundreds and thousands of surveillance cameras deployed across a city into smart video devices, contributing to the city's ability to improve security, safety and incident-response city-wide.

Secutech Thailand 2017, which is jointly organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and Worldex GEC Co, is the leading platform for security, fire and safety and smart home technology for ASEAN, where industry professionals can meet, learn and search for the latest technology.
