IndigoVision, a leading manufacturer on complete IP video security solutions with sales and support staff in 30 countries, and partners with 500 trained system integrators to provide local installation and service to end users all over the world, gives us a brief overview of the security market the Philippines.

In recent years, the security industry has been growing very fast, with the majority of growth coming from the low end market, and the medium to high-end surveillance market stable but growing very slow. The recent slow economy and upcoming election may be a factor in this, with the government sector slowing down. “The government should be the one to push for more security (smart city, transportation etc.,) and regulation, at this point of time we are not really seeing much evidence for this,” said Tamir Ginat, Senior VP of APAC at IndigoVision. “As expected, towards the election there is a lot of activities and request for information that hopefully will turn into real projects. We hope the government will roll out many of these projects. From our experience, projects that will not rollout before the election might delay or even get cancelled,” Ginat added.

Optimistic forecasts are expected for the Philippines, with the help of the ‘No CCTV, no business permit’ policy, and the growth of the BPO industry, that will be a crucial factor that can help the security industry grow awareness and promote growth.
