ASSA ABLOY again in Forbes 100 most innovative companies list

ASSA ABLOY has once again made the list of Forbes 100 most innovative companies – for 2014 – published on August 20.

“I'm very pleased that we have achieved such success with our R&D,” says Johan Molin, President and CEO of ASSA ABLOY.

”Innovation is the single most important driver for organic growth and the backbone for ASSA ABLOY's success in the market place. It's for that reason we've more than doubled our investments in R&D and the number of development engineers have increased by almost 100%. We are by far the industries most innovative supplier of total door opening solutions. New products launched in the past three years have exceeded our target of 25%.”

Forbes states that its innovation ranking is different to many others, which are often little more than popularity contests based on past performance or editorial whims. Instead, Forbes says it relies on “the wisdom of the crowd” – or, more specifically, on investors' ability to identify firms that they expect to be innovative now and in the future.

This year ASSA ABLOY is ranked #93. While innovation is prioritized – it also includes information about the various companies' sales growth over the past 12 months.
