MorphoTrust brings new conveniences to transportation workers

MorphoTrust USA (Safran), the U.S. provider of identity solutions and services, has recently announced that it completed transition of the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) Threat Assessment Program (HTAP) to the new Universal Enrollment Services (UES) platform. TSA's HTAP conducts a security threat assessment for individuals seeking to obtain, renew, or transfer an HME on a commercial driver license. IdentoGO Centers by MorphoTrust provide the enrollment services for HTAP and other security threat assessment programs covered under UES, including TSA Pre and the Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) program. HME applicants are advised to pre-enroll and schedule their enrollment appointments at any one of the 270 convenient nationwide IdentoGO Centers, which is 80 percent more than the approximately 150 legacy HazPrint centers. During the enrollment process, applicants are required to provide identity and immigration documents and have their fingerprints taken. Maritime transportation workers will also now have the ability to apply at all of these IdentoGO Centers, providing access to TWIC enrollment in some states for the first time.

"MorphoTrust has been working aggressively to support the transition of these programs into UES and we anticipate that the completion of the HTAP transition will improve the enrollment process across TSA programs as well as enhance customer convenience with the added centers," said MorphoTrust CEO Bob Eckel. "It will benefit many transportation workers, particularly those who work in maritime areas and require both a TWIC card and an HME endorsement on their commercial driver license. With over 1.7M HME enrollments to date, we look forward to supporting the growth of this program."

MorphoTrust has provided HME enrollment services since 2005 and was awarded the HazPrint prime contract for HME enrollment services in 2009. TSA selected MorphoTrust as prime contractor for UES in 2012. The transition of HTAP enrollment centers to UES started in October 2013.
