Sunell Technology, a Shenzhen-based video surveillance devices provider, attended the security trade show in West Africa in March, 2012. The company sees potential demand from the region, where their products have already been applied in critical facilities, proving its product quality and performance are highly gratified in the region.

Sunell technology attended the security trade show in Lagos, Nigeria. While most Chinese manufacturers still focus on Europe, the Americas or even the South East Asia, the company have foreseen the next phase for expanding overseas business. “We have been surveying the business in Africa for a period of time,” said Ann Wu, Vice President at Sunell. “From the show, you can find there are not many manufacturers from Asia. While the world economy is bouncing back very slowly, especially in those mature markets, such as Europe and America, we have already set our sight on another continent where the future business is. In my opinions, Africa will be booming in the next five to eight years.”

Potentials
Africa is still under development with very weak conscience of electronic security products. From Wu's standpoints, the conventional analogue camera is still dominated while the IP product is the future. “We found our products are very competitive as we offer a wide range from analogue to IP,” said Wu. “For low- and high-end markets, our robust expertise in analogue can satisfy our customers, in terms of quality, performance as well as price.”

According to Wu, the government is investing in numerous projects and enhancing its infrastructure, such as oil and gas applications. “In the high-end market front, we assure our IP products can meet customer's demand as we have been investing greatly for years,” added Wu. “We continue to serve customers with our own brand products in the region as this market welcomes good quality “Made-in-China” labels.”

Furthermore, Wu points out that Sunell's cameras have already been installed in Lago's international airport. “Our own brand products have been applied through our partner years ago,” said Wu. “As the airport demands products of high criteria, it proves that our product performance and quality receives positive credits from the airport authorities.”
