The 2024 Secutech International Security Exhibition and Conference kicks off on Apr. 24 in Taipei, showcasing various AIoT-enabled technologies that make end user organizations more secure and efficient.
The 25th edition of the show takes place over a three-day duration at the Nangang Exhibition Hall. This year 300 companies are exhibiting at the show, running a total of 515 booths. Exhibitors come from 13 countries including: Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Australia, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Norway, U.K. and the U.S.
In terms of visitors, approximately 14,000 graced the show with their presence, including an estimated 600 overseas visitors. Major visiting countries include: Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, India, Indonesia and Myanmar. There are also buyer delegations from the following seven regions/countries: Adria, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Myanmar, Cambodia and Indonesia.
Smarter and more efficient with AIoT
This year’s event is themed "Intelligent Security Automation and Smart Operation Management.” Products and solutions exhibited under major pavilions including: mobility, security, smart building and fire safety, suit the theme well as they leverage the powers of AIoT (short for AI and IoT) to meet users’ various security and non-security objectives.
VIVOTEK for example built upon their smart search technology to create the Case Vault solution that much simplifies searching and forensic operations. At the core of the solution is VIVOTEK’s own AI cameras that can effectively identify not only people and vehicles, but also features unique to them for example the color of shirts and pants people are wearing. These metadata can be checked and cross-referenced to allow users, for example law enforcement agencies, to see the complete footprint of a suspect based on visual descriptions told by witnesses, for example someone who wears a red shirt and gray pants.
Merit LILIN also demonstrated their various solutions leveraging AIoT technologies. One of them is a smart carwash use case that captures a vehicle’s plate via the company’s ALPR camera, matches the plate against a black or white list, and grants the vehicle entry once it's approved by the system, allowing for a frictionless experience. LILIN also demonstrated their cutting-edge, made-in-Taiwan camera models including: a hardened PTZ camera capable of resisting winds of up to 60 meters per second, and a speed dome with a range of nearly 1 km, significantly reducing the cost of installing multiple cameras to cover such a long distance.
Privacy protection critical
Finally, in the era of AI, data privacy is key. With huge amounts of data used to train systems, protecting these data from being exploited by hostile actors is critical. RogersAI takes this into consideration with their solution which uses the time-of-flight technology to identify a person’s facial depth. The technology works well in all illumination scenarios, includes anti-fake technologies against the usage of, for example mannequins, and leaves no video whatsoever in the system, well protecting users’ privacy. The solution can be applied to certain scenarios including banks and offices.
